Anna Gòrska from the ID-CARE Team at the University of Verona attended the 34thMedical Informatics Europe (MIE2024) Conference in Athens, Greece, on August 27th to present her work titled: Towards autonomous living meta-analyses: a framework for automation of systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
The team has been working towards automating the systematic review and meta-analysis processes since the ValueDX project, using the constantly developed LLMs (large language models). The same methodology and infrastructure are currently being applied to the scientific questions posed by the CoMeCT project. In CoMeCT, UNIVR’s task is to map and collect data on cohorts targeting infections caused by pathogens with pandemic potential. Thus, we are adapting our methodology to be able to interact with databases such as PubMed and clinicaltrials.gov to understand if a record or publication adequately describes the observational cohort study targeting the pathogen of interest. The automation process is particularly important for CoMeCT, as it’s going to be able to rapidly and continuously search for emerging pathogens.
