On Tuesday 16 December, the Cohort Coordination Board (CCB) celebrated its 40th meeting since it’s conception back in April 2022.

The CCB, coordinated by the ID-CARE team at the University of Verona, is a forum that brings together cohort-based ID research projects across Europe alongside stakeholder representatives, aiming to facilitate partnerships, find solutions to common challenges and reduce overlap between projects.
Since it began, the CCB has grown to 29 permanent member projects and expanded its scope outside of COVID-19 to include all infectious diseases with epidemic/pandemic potential. Initially consepualised within ORCHESTRA – Cohorts, the CCB was then included into the VERDI, CoMeCT project, PIPELINE, PROACT EU-Response and BE READY NOW projects.
As well as hosting 40 meetings the CCB has also published 3 joint articles, provided feedback and recommendations to the European Commission and other EU agencies, and hosted an insightful in-person workshop earlier this year in Rome.
